Rolling Stock Division

PRE's Rolling Stock Division provides service and maintenance products for freight rolling stock and its major components – Wagons, Bogies, Wheelsets, Air Brakes and Draft Gears. Our emergency response teams are available 24/7 and can lift, inspect, repair and reposition rolling stock trackside. Preventative Maintenance and Backshop Maintenance services are available from our mobile vehicles and our facilities in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and Perth. PRE's maintenance services are convenient, flexible, fast and competitive.

Field services and fleet maintenance services
PRE maintainers perform infield inspections to monitor condition, for preventative purposes and to complete mandatory assessments such as A/B/PM/56 day exams. Tasks performed infield are wide in scope and include bogie and wheelset change-outs, structural body repairs, king casting replacement and draft package replacement.

Fleet maintenance services range from new wagon assembly to preventative maintenance, heavy repairs and asset disposal. Our technology partnerships with tertiary institutions and international rolling stock industry giants, open doors to advanced technology for rolling stock asset management purposes.

Air brake overhauls
We overhaul all brands of wagon and locomotive air brake equipment. Our capabilities extend to the re-manufacture and testing of brake equipment to approved codes. Wagon air brake equipment overhauls are done on triple valves, release valves, isolating cocks, slack adjusters, brake cylinders, distributor valves, relay valves, brake hoses and ball/end cocks. Loco equipment that we take care of includes 26L kits, A7/B7 kits, ACDW kits, BFC/BFCF kits, brake racks and safety valves.
