Track Division

PRE Track Division manufactures and designs specialist track products for use in settings across the full spectrum of railway operations, from heavy haul, to intermodal and passenger transport. The Division focuses on engineering innovative, customised track solutions for the 60 kg and 68 kg rail markets.

PRE, together with joint venture partner Progress Rail, successfully developed and put into track the heaviest axle load turnouts in the world. As The Joint Venture Heavy Haul Track Systems, the partners recently opened a new facility in Perth that provides a whole new level of service for the WA market.

PRE designs and manufactures turnouts and specialises in customised technology and supply chain solutions for special or standard track work, including the design and pre-assembly of special track work for high-performance rail networks. All design and manufacturing of turnouts, crossings and associated componentry is BSI ISO 9001-2008 quality certified.

The PRE Range
The PRE range includes tunnel turnouts for rail less than 30 kg; turnouts for between 41 kg and 60 kg; special spiral turnouts for reduced lateral impacts; special curved or new design turnouts;
heavy haul turnouts between 68 kg/85 kg; buffer stops; insulated rail joints and expansion switches of 65 mm to 600 mm.
The range of signalling equipment includes M84, M3A / M23A machines; Siemens S700k / S700v; in-bearers; rodding and spherolocks.
The component range covers sleepers and bearers, not only in steel, but also in composite materials. We also supply special resilient pads as well as rubber and HDPE. In addition to this, EVA or Hytrel pads are also used in the stockrail and switch assemblies. High grade screw spikes are used on all turnouts and gauge adjustable plates and fastenings will be available early 2012.
The stockrail and switch assemblies range covers from small 4 m pivot heel switches to 2000 m radius switches. The range includes augmented design; end forged ZU1-60 asymmetrical switches forged to AS60 kg profile; Schwihag clips; Schwihag rollers and high grade / quality CNC machined non-welded slide plates.
The crossings range covers swing nose crossings from 1 in 10 to 1 in 28; alloy noses crossings in any range; manganese crossings and manganese vees in any range;
RBM crossings in any range; lift crossings and spring wing crossings; diamond / slips crossings and fabricated special crossings in any range.
The checkrail assemblies range includes Schwihag clips; high grade /quality CNC machined non-welded plates; fully assembled with UIC33 rails.
